Description
ZestSC2 is an FPGA board that connects to a host PC through High Speed USB (480Mbits/s)
and achieves a sustained USB bandwidth of 34MBytes/s. The board is intended for applications
such as data acquisition, control and image processing. It can also be used for FPGA
development work, prototyping, training and demonstrations.
The FPGA is a Xilinx Spartan-3 with up to 4 million gates. There are also 32MBytes of
SDRAM, up to 8Mbytes of SRAM and 200 header pins for user I/O. The on-board PSU with up to 95% efficiency enables
the board to be powered entirely from the USB port and secondary USB port (for power only), or if more than 5W is required it can
be powered from a wall adapter or hard disk drive power connector.
Support software for FPGA configuration and communication with the host PC, logic core
sources for the FPGA interfaces, and example sources are all supplied free with the board. It
is very quick and easy to get going as all support is provided and it can be used with just a
USB cable connected to a host PC.
