Description

The DS-8002AI/ALI is an embedded network digital video recorder/server (DVR/DVS), using the most advanced technology in video/audio encoding/decoding, streaming, and storage. It is an excellent stand-alone digital video surveillance product. The DS-800xAI/ALI combines the features of a digital video/audio recorder (DVR) with the features of a digital video/audio server (DVS). Including features like: 3 channels of video/audio each compressed separately in QCIF, CIF, 2CIF, or DCIF, using H.264 video and OggVorbis audio algorithms. Support for up to 3 IDE hard disk drives of a max of 2000GB each. Supports  TCP, UtP, RTP, DHCP, etc. The system has a high performance embedded real-time operating system (RTOS) running on a high performance embedded CPU. This makes for a more stable and reliable surveillance system than PC based systems. 

The new H.264 video compression standard has a much higher compression ratio, yet higher picture quality compared to standard MPEG4. At the same video quality, the bit rate is about 40% lower than MPEG4-ASP. The perfect synchronization of audio and video ensures that it can be used in many applications.

Note: Although the underlying technology for this surveillance product is H.264, including all the quality and bit rate advantages, the file format used is not compatible with H.264 products from other vendors.
