MPSD Emulators

Three devices in the TMS320 DSP family use a different emulation standard to all the others. Whereas the vast majority of devices use the IEEE1149.1 JTAG standard; the C30, C31 and C32 devices use a derivative of that standard called MPSD. MPSD differs from JTAG in a number of ways, including the emulation connector (12-pin instead of 14-pin). However, the important difference is that a user will need a different emulator for those three devices than for all the other devices.

As the three devices which use the MPSD standard are no longer recommended for new development, there are not many new MPSD emulators on the market. Kane Computing, however, are still able to offer a selection of emulators in a range of formats. All the emulators listed are supplied with C3x/C4x Code Composer v4.10 drivers.
