Multi-format 4:2:2 AVC Encoder from ATEME

ATEME's Kyrion® CM3101 encoder allows for the bulk transmission of premium SD and HD content over satellite and IP networks during electronic news gathering (ENG) as well as for broadcast contribution.

Applying the latest ATEME compression technology the Kyrion CM3101 includes support for H.264 with the 4:2:2 chroma subsampling profile for providing the highest possible level of video quality with vastly improved bandwidth efficiency compared to legacy codec.

Multi-format MPEG-2/H.264 HD and SD Receiver/Decoder

Aimed at both IPTV and contribution markets, the DR8100 is a professional receiver/decoder for HD and SD video compressed with MPEG-2 and H.264. The DR8100 meets industry requirements for satellite, telco and terrestrial networks. Built upon a highly flexible, scalable and future-proof architecture, multiple slots are available to host interface boards that best fit your specific application.

The DR8100 is available in a single channel configuration for receiving H.264 video for contribution application or in a multi-channel configuration for space-critical applications such as MPEG-2 to H.264 conversion for IPTV.

Kyrion Tape to File H.264 Encoder

The ATEME KTF7100 is a feature-rich real-time ingest and encoding solution for tape to file applications. Part of the Kyrion® product range, the KTF7100 is built upon ATEME's standards-compliant MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec renowned for high quality video, bandwidth efficiency and interoperability. Designed to work with any professional tape deck, the KTF7100 can produce pristine quality H.264 video in real-time while ensuring compatiblity with numberous devices including set top boxes, Apple® products and Adobe® Flash technology.

Kyrion HD MPEG-4 Encoder praise from ITV

The ATEME Kyrion® HD MPEG-4 video encoder was loaned to ITV for assessment purposes. The performance of the encoder was rated against a number of other similar devices available on the market.

ITV found the ATEME encoder to perform above average in the group and were very satisfied with the picture quality it produced. Demanding material was viewed at 6Mbps, 10Mbps and 12Mbps. The encoded output met the standard expected by ITV for its current and future HD services.

The user interface was clear and concise, encoding latency was negligible and the hardware was of an excellent standard.

ITV would be enthusiastic to view future ATEME encoding products for forthcoming transmission projects.
