Vitec Multimedia Digital Video Products Update
Vitec Multimedia now have four new product lines:
- Integration Products
- Programmable Hardware Products
- Professional End-User Products
- Custom Design Products
The main application areas are medical, industrial, broadcast and video security.
Integration Products are specially developed for integrators, supplied with a Software Development Kit (SDK), which allows fast and easy system integration.
A range of complete off-the-shelf PCI/PCIe (1 lane) and standalone video capture and video compression products supporting composite s-video, YUV/RGB, DVI-I, SDI and HD-SDI video inputs and MJPEG, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG2-HD, MPEG4 (SP and ASP) and H.264 (AVC) video compression standards. All products are supplied with a innovative Software Framework called LiveWire.

Programmable Hardware Products |
Programmable Hardware Products are targeted at software professionals, specialised in video algorithms/image analysis and processing.
These cards based on DSP processors are designed for a broad range of video and image analysis applications, to allow customers to link their software to powerful reliable and autonomous hardware. Products range from a simple compact standalone board with one DSP up to a rack based system with 75 DSPs. This range also includes specialist products, such as a VCS (Video Camera System), a compact programmable camera module optimised for counting and smart camera applications such as direction control, tracking, queue measurement etc. |

Professional End-User Products |
Professional End-User Products are fully packaged products, ready to use, they come with a Graphic User Interface (GUI).
TwinPEG™ Pro is a dual MPEG encoder, capable of simultaneously generating two different MPEG files (MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4) from a single SDI, YUV or composite video source. Applications include: Broadcast quality video archiving, video streaming and DVD content creation. MP-2300 is a low cost PCI capture and MPEG compression card suitable for subtitling, contribution and much more. |

Custom Design Products - Over 20 years Vitec have built up extensive knowledge, experience and systems for video hardware and software design and industrialisation. Many custom products have been created from proven standard products, such as a hospital video recording and streaming solution and a complete standalone video recorder, also for a hospital.
