PSDB - PROC Daughter Boards

The PSDB daughter boards provide the flexibility to complete the GiDEL PROCe III / PROCStar III system with additional connectivity and functionality. System connectivity is achieved on these daughterboards via 1.6GHz connectors, providing more connection speed.

There are several options for the user to fit a daughterboard to his/her needs, no matter which kind of PROC motherboard he/she has chosen:

  • Using one of the existing GiDEL's daughter boards,
  • Creating a daughterboard using a GiDEL PSDB_Proto daughterboard,
  • Developing a custom daughter board, or
  • Using GiDEL to develop a daughter board to match the user's requirements.

General Features:

  • Clocking: PROC motherboard's main clocks as well as dedicated clock outputs connect to the daughter boards.
  • Power supply: PROC motherboards supply 5V, 3.3V, 2.5V and 1.8V connect to the daughterboards.
  • Connectivity: The PSDB cards connect to the PROC motherboard via one or two 1.6GHz connectors.
  • Identification: PROC motherboards identify the installed daughterboard(s) and notify the host software of their presence.
  • Location: PROCStar motherboards allow installation of several daughterboards of different types.
PSDB_CL/ CL_IO
CameraLink input daughterboard's turns any of GiDEL's hardware platforms to a powerful frame grabber. Selection of Base, Medium or Full.  Features also General purpose I/O connector with 12 TTL/LVTTL I/O signals working at a maximum speed of 20 MHz.

PSDB_CL_Out
CameraLink Output daughterboard Used as part of Camera Link simulator as well as for Camera Link Transmitting.

PSDB_CL_IO/ CL2_IO
CameraLink input daughterboard turns any of GiDEL's hardware platforms to a powerful frame grabber. Support Dual Base only. Features also General purpose I/O connector with 12 TTL/LVTTL I/O signals working at a maximum speed of 20 MHz.

DVI input & output for video applications

PSDB_SDI
5 Ports SDI interface for high end video applications.
Support 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI & Dual Link SDI.


PSDB_IO

12 channels OptoCoupler Input & 8 channels OptoCoupler output, 8 channels Buffer input & 8 channels Buffer output, 12 channels RS422 input & 8 channels RS422 output, 1 channel RS232 Input output, 11 channels 10Bit ADC, 8 channels 8Bit DAC. Supported on PROCSpark II only.

PSDB_PHY
Up to 4 channels of 10/100/1000Mbps Copper & Fiber using pluggable SFP technology.

PSDB_PHY2
Two channels switched 1Gbps RJ45 copper Ethernet ports. Ideal for GigE Vision frame grabbing.

PSDB_SRAM 512K x 36bits SRAM/ 255MHz, NoBL architecture. Linear / Interleaved burst access ability.

PSDB_LA
4* Mictor and 100mil connectors for Logic Analyzer debug.

PSDB_Proto
Prototyping area + Logic Analyzer hooks enable rapid development of user's daughterboard and easy debug with Logic Analyzer.
