While there are a plethora of low-cost, low accuracy, pan and tilt units available for surveillance applications; there is a real shortage of robust, highly accurate units, suitable for industrial and robotic applications. Kane Computing are able to offer suitable high performance units from Directed Perception Inc. These units are simple to control from any host computer via an RS-232 or RS-485 link. Multiple pan and tilts can be controlled from a single PC over a single serial link. Control can be via an ASCII command set, an ANSI C API or via a LabView Driver. With a small form factor and high load capacity these units are ideal for applications such as robotics and computer vision, tracking, industrial automation and laser ranging and positioning.
